Western hemlock is extremely common in the western parts of Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Its “shade intolerant nature allows it to grow both in open areas and in the understory of forests dominated by Douglas fir and other species. The wood is extremely versatile. Its design values make it popular in construction applications, while its workability and smooth, straight grain also give it value in industrial and finish applications.

Patrick Lumber sells a wide range of hemlock products both domestically and overseas. Customers in New England use it for exterior bevel siding, while others use it to make flooring as well as interior, exterior and garage doors.
